Peacefully on August 23, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at 83 years of age. Beloved wife of Gerald for 61 years. Loving mother of Patricia (Gerald Kwiatkowski), Marie-Anne (Gavin Gut) and Suzanne (Todd Lauzon). Treasured Mim of Sarah (Lucas), Brianna, Selene, Joshua, Payton, Samantha, Kyla, Avary and Olivia. Predeceased by her parents Richard and Anna Bastien. Dear sister of Leo (Donna), Antoinette (Mike), Edward (Connie), Pat (Marguerite), Bernadette (late John), Isabelle (Dan). Sister-in-law to late Roger (Beverly), late Lucille (late Mark, late Jan), Germaine (J.P.), late Ernest (Diane). She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Mom was the fiercest fighter in the world for the past 7 years. Never did she let that terrible disease get her down. Life was on her own terms, right to the end. Mom enjoyed needlework, crafts and baking, especially our favourite chocolate marshmallow squares. She loved gathering her family around her and Dad, planning many dinners, campfires and celebrations. Mom lived her faith in helping others as a nurse early on and throughout her life as well as volunteering in our parish in many ministries and committees over the years. She leaves a hole within Dad and her family that nothing can ever fill.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph Church Capital Campaign or to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Families First, 585 Sandwich St. S, Amherstburg, 519-969-5841. On Wednesday, August 31, 2022 family and friends are invited to meet after 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph River Canard Church (9399 N Townline Rd.) for Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
