Leck, Donald Roy
Passed away suddenly at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 70 years of age. Loving husband of Cathy for 47 years. Beloved father of Kristyn, Tyler, Jordon (Victoria), Joshua (Laura), Austin (Kayla), and Micah. Proud Poppa of Ashtyn, Kyah, Abel, Ivaya, Noelle, Selena, and Judah. Brother of Allan (predeceased by Betty Leck), Carol (predeceased by Chris Lachonas). Dear son of the late Roy and Marjorie Leck.
Don graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 1974, and then from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1978 as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Don taught Chiropractic at the OCC before opening the doors of his practice, « Family Wellness Chiropractic », in 1982. Within his profession, Don was a leading proponent of instrument adjusting in Canada, serving as a Clinical Instructor teaching instrument adjusting and the Activator Method Chiropractic Technique to student and graduate chiropractors. He also taught and specialized in sports injuries. A lifelong student of chiropractic, nutrition and related health care, Don stayed current on advances in health research to help his patients.
Music ministry began for Don and Cathy in 1975. They were co-pastors of a church and he was a passionate theological speaker, teacher and musician. He was deeply rooted in his faith while following Jesus, his Lord and Saviour.
Don made a meaningful impact in leading his large family. He was a strong, caring Husband, a dedicated Dad and a special Poppa.
A Celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Alive Church, 145 Pony Dr, Newmarket, on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 1 p.m., with visitation taking place prior, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Following the service Don will be taken to his place of rest at Queensville Cemetery.
The service will be live streamed for those who are not able to attend in person, a link to the live stream will be added shortly.
