Obituary
HARDY, Diana Eileen – 74 of Shelburne, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8th, 2022, at Roseway Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born at Roseway Hospital in Shelburne, Diana was a daughter of the late Earle and Hilje (Wierenga) Acker.
Mom began her working career at Cox’s store and when her children were born, she stayed at home to raise them.
She was devoted to her family, always putting everyone ahead of herself. Mom loved celebrating, decorating, and cooking for every holiday and special occasion.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cross-stitching, having coffee with her sister & her friends, and attending gospel music concerts with her husband. She was a retired member of the Shelburne Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary.
Over the years, she thoroughly enjoyed time with her two grandsons, especially the earlier years spending time teaching them to color, print, and pass on her knack for cooking.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Wilmont, her son David (Betty Lynn), her daughter Debbie (Jerry) Peterson, grandsons; Ryan & Tylan, her sister Brenda (Wally) Buchanan, sister-in-law Heather (Barry) Oickle, nieces; Marla Buchanan, Karen MacAlpine, Marsha Oickle and Sharon Bond & their families.
She was predeceased by her parents Earle and Hilje, as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Marjorie Hardy.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral home, Shelburne. Cremation has taken place, and a family graveside commital will take place at a later date. Memorial donations in Diana’s name may be made to Roseway Hospital Foundation. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.huskilson.net
