Isaiah 40:31 – “But those hoping in Jehovah will regain power. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not tire out.”
Delphine Watson fell asleep in death June 15, 2022. She endured this devastating illness with courage and dignity. Strengthening those she loved with her words and by her actions. She was blessed to have her children Tom and Erin with her on that morning. Delphine’s strength came from her faith in God, she knew his name, Jehovah. Psalms 83:18. Reading her Bible daily, she had confidence in her Heavenly Father’s promise, that he in turn would remember her name and awaken her from death at the time of the resurrection. Her hope and belief in this Bible truth gave her great comfort in her life. For awhile, she leaves us to mourn her loss from our lives and to cherish own memories of her.

Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends from coast to coast.
New adopted grandchildren – Michelle, Nick, Stephen and Ashley Walsh, special cousins Ilene and Henry Dagenais of BC, special friends Ramona and Glenn Sparks of Zealandia.
Predeceased by her mother Madeline Gulbranson (2011), father Didrik Gulbranson (2002), her brothers Harold (1950), Larry (2001), her sister Cheryl Rose (2014).
Delphine was born on August 21, 1947 to Madeline and Didrik Gulbranson in North Battleford, SK, third in line of 12 children. Smart, beautiful, imaginative and entertaining. At time precocious, at the tender age of 7, along with her sister Phyllis, age 8, walked to the local radio station to ask if she and Phyllis could sing on the radio. The answer was yes! Not only once, but they were asked to return each week for a children’s hour! Or tom-boying around Vancouver Island beaches with her brother Larry. Getting into mischievous scrapes together. The high school years with Phyllis and Eleanor, cheerleading, fee clud, driving around in Mom’s car. As always, listening to music! As more brothers and sisters came along, she became a wonderful big sister. One very much admired and loved. As a working high school student, she would always make family celebrations special with her wonderful, generous nature. Still in high school withing as a ‘car hop’ she met her first love, Terry Kennedy. In August 1970 they married and headed for the West Coast. Where Terry pursued his music career and Delphine began her long career with BC Tel. Starting as a telephone operator, working her way along to become a lineperson and finally in IT. Her greatest joy came at the birth of her children Tom, August 3, 1975 and Erin, August 6, 1983. A hard-working Mom, loving and supportive. In the hard times or “doin’ it up” good times. Giving them the opportunities to explore the arts, in music and dance. Tim and Erin were her delight, her love, her life! Tom describes her as his ‘best friend’. In palliative care at Rose Villa, after a dramatic turn in her health, she requested ‘not to be alone’! He made a promise and moved into her room and lived at Rose Villa, for the remainder of her days, he was her rock, proving that ‘love is a perfect bond of union’? Keeping the promise he made. Erin has said that her Mom was the joy of her life and had so much love to give. Erin always was devoted to her Mom, always taking care to make sure her Mom had what she needed to keep her strength as she battled this illness. Delphine was proud of her children, raising them with love and values. Becoming a single Mom, she returned to Saskatchewan. Always doing her best for her little family.
In 2006, she met her future husband Ernie, they married June 30, 2008. Starting their newlywed life with a motorcycle trip to BC. Going on these road trips (bike rides) was a great source of enjoyment. Living for a time in Nova Scotia, they also explored the Atlantic Coast. All around Saskatchewan with a special picnic spot at Eagle Creek. Ernie was her last love, a devoted husband, loving and caring for her in the best and the worst times. Always respecting her wishes.
Delphine was a person of many interests, talents, music, a huge part of her life, she learned to play classical guitar, love to sing and dance. For a time, she took on carpentry, cabinet making. Literature of all times, she adored her books, reading consistently the most daunting books. A wonderful cook and a most hospitable host. To have a big family dinner/celebration she thrived. Setting a most beautiful table, right down to the napkins.
Delphine was in her element in nature, thoroughly enjoying the works of the Creator and praised him with her words for all the wonder around her. Birds, trees, flowers, a starry-night with a heavenly show of norther lights. Savoring each season’s beauty. Discovering natures essential oils was a continuing passion of Delphine’s, making blends for her loved ones for health concerns or just the sheer enjoyment of the senses. All of us will have at least one dark bottle of lovely blend of oil, made with love from Delphine.
Friendly, outgoing, charming, compassionate, generous to a fault. Strangers were even drawn to her beautiful, caring personality. Delphine enriched our lives in so many ways.
We will grieve her loss from our lives until our Heavenly Father fulfills his promise and restores her life, to live in perfect health on paradise earth.
