Obituary of Constance Garland
Connie is now in the arms of her Saviour Jesus and beloved husband Don. She passed peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Helen Henderson Care Centre at the age of 87. Connie and Don were married for 63 years before his passing in 2017. Loving Mom to Sandi Garland and proud Gram to Radford Cowan and Spouse Christina Avery. Delighted Great Gram to Oliver, Kale, and new Great Grandbaby Wilder. Born in Toronto, Connie was a stay-at-home Mom, later becoming an Office Manager with Auto Trader. She and Don moved from Toronto in 2001 to enjoy retirement in the Loyalist Golf Community in Bath. She was a life-long gardener and member of the Bath Garden Club. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and spending time with family. Connie and Don loved entertaining in their home serving up delicious desserts while challenging friends to a game of pool or dominoes. Connie was passionate about her faith and served in Women’s, Children’s, and Camping Ministries among others. She and Don attended The Salvation Army Citadel, which she continued to do after Don’s passing. The family are thankful for the compassionate care Connie received at HHCC which became home to her in the last few years of her life. With her dry wit and entertaining personality, she was a favorite among the staff. Cremation has been entrusted to The James Reid Crematorium. Connie’s family will receive guests on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at The James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston. Celebration of Life Service for Connie on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11am at The Salvation Army Citadel, 816 Centennial Dr., Kingston. Reception to follow. Masking required at both venues. Donations in Connie’s memory may be made to The Salvation Army, The Kingston Pregnancy Care Centre, or Golden Rescue (Adoption and Foster Care for Golden Retrievers).
