Cecile Marie Ross
1940-2022
Cecile Marie Ross, the wife of John Ross formerly of Black River Bridge, New Brunswick, passed away at Shannex-Losier Hall on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the age of 82.
Born in Eel River Crossing, Restigouche County, New Brunswick, on April 1, 1940, she was the daughter of both the late Henri and Lina (Cayoutte) Doucet.
Cecile was a Homemaker and her family meant everything to her. She was a dearly beloved Wife of 62 years, Mother of nine children, precious Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She was Anglican by faith, and was also a former Vice-President of the local chapter of the Gideon Society. Cecile took pride in caring for her community and could always be found at the annual Harvest Home in Black River Bridge helping to serve delicious slices of pie while greeting visitors with a warm welcome.
Cecile enjoyed talking on the phone for many hours, she had a love for shopping and enjoyed family gatherings. In her spare time she spent many hours listening to music and watching her favorite TV shows; Law and Order, Coronation Street and Hallmark Christmas movies.
Cecile is survived by five daughters: Mona Hachey (Ken) of Miramichi, NB, Norma Fantauzzi (Giulio) of Miramichi, NB, Carol Hay (Ronnie) of Black River Bridge, NB, Catharine McNeill (Kristin) of Christchurch, New Zealand, Sandra Leger (Charlie) of Memramcook, NB; four sons: John Ross Jr. of Florida, USA, James Ross (Kelly) of Black River Bridge, NB, Lester Ross (Shelley) of Napan, NB, and Gary Ross (Sherley) of Calgary, AB; fourteen grandchildren: Tricia (Brent), Jonathan (Rachel), Bradley, Justin (Ashley), Alex, Holly (Jeff), Bobbielee (Jesse), Danny, Kayla (Ryan), Isabella, Samuel, Elliot, Brandon, Collin; 11 great-grandchildren Chandler, Landon, Bryce, Presley, Noah, Owen, Alexis, Jayden, Emma, Carter, Brynlee; four sisters: Aline Wirtanen of Sarnia, ON, Claudette Savoie of St. Arthur, NB, Irene Savoie of Balmoral, NB, and Yvette Doucet of Dalhousie, NB; brothers: Emile Doucet of Balmoral, NB, Clement Doucet of Eel River Crossing, and Claude Doucet of Bathurst, NB.
She is predeceased by sister, Marianne LeBlanc; and brothers: Fidele Doucet, Albert Doucet, and beloved family pet Jenny.
A public visitation will take place on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 2-4 PM, and 7-9 PM at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB. A public funeral service will occur on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 2 PM, from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend Don Hamilton as Officiant. Interment will occur at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi.
