It is with broken hearts that the Family announces the unexpected passing of Catherine Rose Audette at the age of 57 years. Catherine gained her wings on Saturday July 02, 2022 in her home in Cobalt.
Catherine commonly known as Cathy, was born on December 08, 1964 to the late Alexander Adshead and to the late Alma Markwardt in Coleman township. Cathy spent her days growing up, helping her parents with things around the house and enjoying swimming in Gillies lake. Cathy’s parents house was at Gilles lake, which became a safe haven for her children, who played there almost daily.
Cathy was a long time Cobalt resident. She did venture off to Wisconsin in the USA to help her grandma Frances Markwardt where she remained for 2 years while working as a dispatcher for a police station. Cathy was a jack of all trades, a woman of many talents or a busy bee. She usually had one or two things on the go, side jobs etc… Cathy had worked in Housekeeping at the Temiskaming Hospital for many years. During her time there, she became involved with the Union which she loved as it was helping her co-workers. Cathy was a big believer in helping others always and never looked for any recognition afterwards. In her spare time Cathy loved to sew, she would make her family home made PJ pants just like her mom once did and she would spend time with her sisters making quilts. Cathy loved art of all forms from painting, drawing, making homemade gifts. Last but not least Cathy loved to bake and she loved teaching her grandchildren how to bake.
Locals will remember Cathy as the baker of countless butter tarts & cinnamon buns, all to the benefit of the St. James Anglican Church. But her greatest love was the time spent with her family and friends. She had a heart of gold and always putting the needs of others before her own. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her warm and friendly smile, her stern handshake and her just the right amount of squeeze hugs. Cathy will be missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Cathy is predeceased by her parents, by her grandson Nicholas Glen Audette and by her stepson Darryl Audette. She is the loving mother of Kerri and her husband Kevin Lendt, Kyle and his wife Mirianna Audette, Katie Rose and her husband Alexander Jackson and Josh Audette; cherished grandmother of Amy, Madison, Alexzander, Rosealynn, Zoey, Quinn, Charitee and Matthew. Also surviving are her siblings Sharon, Tina, Wendy, Barbi, Brenda and Rodney.
Cathy’s final care has been entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions Cathy’s memory can be made to St James Anglican Church in Cobalt. Condolences and contributions may be left at www.buffamleveille.com
