Obituary
Catherine Jean Reynolds
1956- 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine Jean Reynolds “Jeannie”, at the age of 66, after a lengthy and valiant fight with cancer.
Her two daughters Navenda and Pam were the “stars” in her life, as well as her four grandchildren who always put a smile on her face. She relived their stories frequently and would be smiling as she recounted each and every one. She was so very proud of them and loved them dearly.
Jeannie was a fierce, independent and private person who loved spending time with family, but was just as content being alone. She loved working with the elderly. She spent 22 years at Mount St. Joseph and then 2 years at Losier Hall until she retired. She would listen and talk to the seniors as if they were her own family. She loved her time with them, and would say that when they were gone, so were their stories.
Jeannie loved her garden and flowers. She had an amazing green thumb! She would thin out her garden and throw all the unwanted plants in the ditch across the road and it would all grow there the following year.
Jeannie was a homebody and often said she would be content if she never left Napan. She only travelled if it was absolutely necessary. She was an avid reader, loved to bake (especially homemade candy), which she shared with many.
All through her illness, Jeannie kept repeating how great the care was she received from the Miramichi Hospital. So with this in mind we, Jeannie’s family, would like to thank the Oncology Department, the Medical Imaging Department, Dr. Human, Dr. G. Losier and last but not least the Miramichi Extra Mural program. These nurses went above and beyond with Jeannie’s care. She loved them all, especially Whitney and Marley who became like family. We should be very grateful for such a wonderful service in our communities.
Jeannie is survived by her two daughters, Navenda Wright (Jason) of Fort St John, BC, and Pamela Keating (Greg) of Miramichi; her four grandchildren: Jackson, Ryan, Jasper and Jaeger; her sisters: Gloria Stewart (Calvin), Jacqueline Phee (Courtney), Glenda Blakely (Randy), Hope Glenn (Kevin), Penny Cormier (Peter), Sally Gilliss (late Byron), and Darla Isfeld (Adam).
She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Paul; her parents; and her brother, Adam.
Jeannie will be resting at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 3-7 PM only. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 11 AM, with The Reverend Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrant. Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery later in the spring.
Jeannie wishes that in lieu of making a donation to an organization in her memory, do an act of kindness for someone. Visit a senior in a nursing home, offer a smile or a compliment to someone, or buy a meal for a homeless person. You will be surprised how far this goes in making someones day better.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, telephone (506) 773-3492, or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca
