Caroline Louise Comeau
July 24, 1926 – February 8, 2022
It saddens me to announce the passing of Caroline Louise Comeau, on February 8, 2022, at the age of 95. Born July 24, 1926 in Yarmouth NS. She was the daughter of Daniel and Ida (Cottreau) Comeau. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Bernard and sister, Lorraine Lightfoot. She is survived by her brother ,Paul Comeau (Joan); nephews ,Daniel Lightfoot, Ronald Lightfoot, Bill Lightfoot, Tom Comeau, Peter Comeau; nieces, Carol Anne Dacosta and Kierstin Comeau. Caroline spent 92 years of her life living in the same house in the Milton area of Yarmouth. She received her degree in book Keeping at St. Ambrose Convent in 1943. She worked for Yarmouth Ice Cream and Dairy as bookkeeper from 1944 to 1955. She then moved to Medford Mass. where she worked for Brigham Buick Ltd. for 3 years. She returned to Yarmouth and worked at Yarmouth Ice Cream and Dairy until it closed. After which she worked for Byron Boudreau at Acadian Vending until her retirement. When she was 17 years old she was out for a bike ride with a friend, the two of them rode up to Lake Side Inn. While they were there a man asked if he could take their picture, they agreed and he took a picture of them with their bicycle in front of the Inn. What a surprise when in the mail arrived a black and white photo that appears on the post card of Lake Side Inn. She never tired of telling this story and still keeps the original photo on display. A special thank you to Dol Doucette for helping keep her in her home in her later years, and the staff at Nakile for the excellent care they gave her. A funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 15,2022 at 10 am from St Ambrose Co Cathedral, Yarmouth. Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Nakile Home for Special Care. Due to Covid -19 restrictions proof of vaccination is required for the funeral service.
