Anthony Joseph Morell 1961 2022 avis de deces

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful
passing of Anthony Morell, 61, of Pomquet, Antigonish County – our
beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend – on October 1,
2022 at St. Martha’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit,
Antigonish. Anthony passed away peacefully with his family by his
side.
Anthony was the first-born son of the late Ambrose and
Natalie (Landry) Morell. He lived all his life in Pomquet. He was
proud to be the fifth generation to live in the home with Shannon and
Peter. He worked tirelessly to complete an extensive renovation on the
Morell family home in 2007.
Anthony lived a life that exemplified commitment to his
family and dedication to hard work. Most of his down time was spent
maintaining a neat property, puttering around the shop, « in the
back » hunting or with a power saw in hand. He and his friends
enjoyed many feeds at the camp – Louie’s
Lodge.
Anthony was a respected and skilled carpenter. He was
honoured to work for his brother and best friend at Morell Builders
for over 20 years.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Shannon (Chisholm), son,
Peter. Sisters: Ann Grant (Kenny), Bernadette Landry (Ambrose),
Shirley MacLellan (Collie), Theresa Broussard, Mary Morell (Roddie)
and brother Paul Morell (JoAnne). Mother-in-law Mae Chisholm;
Shannon’s siblings: Lorna Chisholm; Marian (Curtis) Walsh;
Diane (Ian) MacDougall; Bonnie (Jerry) VanOirschot; Marcia (Brian)
Doiron; Judy (Jerome) Fraser; Joan (Les) Willis; Shaun (Charlene)
Chisholm; Kevin Chisholm; Kathy (Malcolm) MacKinnon.
He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, co-workers and
numerous friends and acquaintances. Anthony was always happy to stop
and have a chat with the people he met.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents, sister Judy, in
infancy, brother-in-law Jerry Broussard, father-in-law Lauchie
Chisholm.
Special thanks to Dr. Howard, Dr. Che, Palliative Care
nurses, Dr. Cudmore and staff, Dr. MacCormick and Oncology staff and
the VON.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held
Sunday, October 9th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral
Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. Funeral will be held
Monday, October 10th, in Ste. Croix Church, Pomquet at 10:30am,
Reverend Dennis Lamey presiding. Burial in the parish
cemetery.
In Memoriam, donations to the charity of your choice
appreciated.
