Obituary of Allan Becker
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Allan on August 3, 2022 at the age of 78 in one of his most loved places. With family by his side.
Allan was born on March 25, 1944 and spent his entire life living in the Grainger area. He graduated from Acme School in 1962 and from there attended Tech school in Calgary where he took Agriculture Mechanics. After graduating Allan spent a brief time trucking for Bruce Hannah, he then returned back home to the Grainger road where he spent his whole life farming with his dad and then his son Joey.
On October 16, 1965 Allan married Lois Toews his wife of 56 years and brought her home to the farm where they raised their children and continued through the years to build onto their farm. Besides farming Allan enjoyed going to Acme for coffee every morning. He really liked auction sales and a good bargain. He would spend hours after each sale sorting through all his findings. He enjoyed visiting with his neighbours and friends and anyone he ran into. But his most loved past time was going to all his grandchildren’s sports and 4-H events. As much as his favourite hobby was work, he was never to busy to spend quality time with each of his grandkids. He enjoyed teaching them the ins and outs on the farm and how hard work and dedication pays off. Allan was active in the community and spent many of his younger years volunteering on various boards. He was passionate about protecting his farmland and instilling values into his family, he was one of the most positive, kindest, and caring people there was.
Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Lois of 56 years, his 2 children Nancy (Bryan) Piepke and Joey (Kelli) Becker, his 7 grandchildren Miranda (Dylan) Balaski, Alicia (Luuk) Scheele, Brannon Piepke, Jaci, Wyatt, Miley and Presley Becker. 4 great grandchildren Brooks, Kaden, Ella and Nash as well as his sister Bernice Becker and his brother Dale Becker. Allan was predeceased by his parents Art and Alvina Becker, sons Jamie and Michael and brother Myles.
We would like to thank all our friends, family and neighbours as well as the Acme and Linden fire departments for all of their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to STARS, or Acme and Linden Fire Departments.
