Alice Larson February 21 1929 July 19 2022 Age 93 avis de deces

Alice Louise Larson of Bow Island peacefully passed away on July 19, 2022, at the age of 93 years, beloved wife of the late Fred Larson. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Debbie Richter (Steven) of Glendon, Alden Larson of Fort St. John, and Greg (Inga) Larson of Bow Island; six grandchildren, Karl, David, Bernadette, Kori, Ryan, and Amy; and two brothers, Harold (Irma) of Medicine Hat and Meryl of Edmonton.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Larson on December 25, 2009; her parents, Henry and Lela Schnee; three brothers, Neil, Dale, and Harvey; as well as two sisters, Marion and Theda.
Alice was born in Medicine Hat on February 20, 1929, but her birth certificate says February 21 so it was always a joke that she had “two” birthdays. She was raised on the Schnee family farm in the Conquerville area south east of Bow Island. She could be found tagging along and learning about horses from her “Pop” when she was three years old. At four years old the hired man, sitting along side handed her the teams reins while hauling a wagon load of grain from the field to the farm. Thus starting her life long love of horses. She was as her brother, Harold would call her, a “horse whisperer”. She could do things with teams and riding horses that most people couldn’t. She had many amazing stories about her days growing up on the farm. She left the farm in the early ‘50s to work on various ranches around Alberta ending up at the Larson Ranch near Manyberries in ‘57, where she met Fred. They married in ‘58 and had three children. Alden in ‘59, Gregory in ‘61, and Debbie in ‘63. Fred and Alice bought and moved to their own farm near manyberries in ‘69 but due to health reasons they sold and moved to a new farm near Bonneyville.
As retirement came, moves to B.C. and Saskatchewan were made. When Fred passed in 2009, Alice moved to Keremeos, B.C. In April of 2021 she took up residence at Pleasant View Lodge in Bow Island until her passing. Alice was an avid gardener learning at an early age on the farm growing large gardens for their family as well as those in need in the community during hard times through the 1930’s. She worked her garden right up to a few years before moving to Bow Island. Alice had a good sense of humour, loved organizing outings and family functions as well as “pranking” friends and family with her good friend, Vivian. Alice made a decision in her last days that she would like to spend eternity with that special friend, the garden, laughs, and to organize another program for all those that would like to join. She made the best decision ever to spend eternity in Heaven… in paradise. She hopes you will join her in the garden.
Alice’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care Mom received at the Pleasant View Lodge, Bow Island Hospital and Long Term Care. There will be a memorial service for friends and family at a later date.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Alice Larson February 21 1929 July 19 2022 Age 93..
