Yvette Fournier September 25th 2021

FOURNIER, Marie Marguerite Yvette (1934-2021) –
We the family sadly announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Marie Marguerite “Yvette” Fournier, of Courtland, on September 25th, 2021, at the V.O.N. Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock, at the age of 87. Yvette was born in Cochrane, Ontario to the late Onézime Fournier and the late Annette (Mondor) Fournier. Over Yvette’s life, she was employed in a variety of places and always sought help improve the lives of others. For many years, she was involved in tobacco farming, while at the same time being a fabulous mother, homemaker, and babysitter. When her children got older, she began working at Sacred Heart Villa, Courtland (now Caressant Care), which inspired her to become a caregiver to the elderly in their homes. In her spare time, Yvette enjoyed classic country music and she enjoyed spending time with her friends singing in “Country Jams.” Yvette was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, in Tillsonburg.
Always a loving mother and grandmother to her children and their families: (1) Rosanne (Ted) Novakowski, of Tillsonburg and their children Alisha (Kris) Layman (kids Ethan, Ashton); Amanda (Devin) Moffatt (kids Liam, Camden); Shawn (Jamie) Novakowski. (2) Christine Larochelle (Jean-Noel Guilmette), of Niagara Falls and her children Yvette (Nick) Mansion (kids Melina, Alexa, Niyah); Tabatha Couse (kids Noah, Rayna, Madyn); late Eric; Elijah Lester; Monique Lester. (3) Lina Mitchell (Larry Turner), and her son Jason Larochelle (kids Vanessa, Dyllan). (4) Gaetane (Guy) Mercier, of Tillsonburg and their children Renée Mercier (kids Daviana, Daxton); Isabelle (Linkon) Price. (5) Donald (Laura) Larochelle, of Walsingham and their children Craig Larochelle; April Larochelle (Nathan); Marcie Larochelle. (6) Léon (Sandra) Larochelle, of Keswick and their children Danielle (Eric) Morgenroth (kids Isabelle, Simone); Joshua Larochelle. (7) Sylvio (Rose) Larochelle, of Delhi and their children Louis (Alisha) (daughter Isla); Rebecca Larochelle. (8) Sylvain (Annette) Larochelle, of Otterville and their children Taneesha; Clayton Larochelle. Yvette is survived by two brothers Dennis Fournier, Roland Fournier, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by two much-loved sons Donald Larochelle and Léon Larochelle, by her mother Annette (Mondor) Fournier & father Onézime Fournier, by her brothers John Fournier and Henry Fournier and by her sister Mary Fournier.
In keeping with Marie’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Yvette’s Life and Legacy will be announced shortly. In keeping with Ontario Government Regulations, all attendees must wear a face covering and proof of vaccination will be required to enter. If unvaccinated, guests may attend if they have proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid test taken with 48 hours preceding the event. Children are exempt. All who knew Yvette are welcomed to attend and are encouraged to offer their support and care by sharing special memories, posting photos, sending flowers, or by contributing memorial donations to the “VON Oxford” (for Sakura House) or to the “Alzheimer Society of Oxford” through Yvette’s tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J.
