Obituary of William Thomas Fitzpatrick
September 11, 1945 – December 21, 2021
With heavy hearts and gratitude for being blessed with his caring and love, we said goodbye to Bill on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Bill passed away peacefully, after a very short and courageous fight with lung cancer. While at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre he was lovingly cared for by many dedicated doctors and nurses and the Palliative Care Team. They are the heroes and angels among us. Special thanks to Father Andrew for praying with us and giving Bill his final blessing. Beloved husband of Sally (nee Farrauto) for 51 years. Devoted dad and biggest sports fan to David (Nicole) and Natalie (Billy). Proud grandpa of Paul, Michael, Elyse, Matthew, Mikayla and Rylee, who brought so much joy to his life. Loving brother and brother-in-law to Teresa and Jim (Julie), Carm LaMantia and Angie and Angelo Farrauto. Bill is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Bill attended Cathedral Boys High School and after graduation worked for the Bank of Commerce and later for Cuna Credit Union. But in his heart, Bill always wanted to be a teacher, so in 1979 he went to Teachers College. He started his teaching career at Albion Boys Vocational School and retired from Hill Park Secondary School where he made lifelong friends. Bill’s greatest joy was getting together with family and friends and cooking some great meals. His traditional Thanksgiving dinner was everyone’s favourite. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. A private family Funeral Service will be held with interment at Mountview Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in Bill’s memory, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
