WILLIAM JAMES NICHOL April 9, 1953 – Oct 4, 2021
William James Nichol of Parksville B.C. fought a valiant battle for the past year and a half against small cell lung cancer and as of Oct. 4th 2021 he passed after a short stay at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Palliative Care.
Bill was born to James Graham and Loveday Mary Nichol farmers in the Zehner Sask area just north of Regina Sask. He was the oldest of 6 children. He remained on the farm until he was married at the age of 20.
He leaves behind his wife Linda of 48 + yrs. and their 3 sons.
First born, Donald James (Katie), granddaughters Krysta and Katryna.
Second born, William Benjamin (Shaunessy) grandchildren, Liev, Isabella and Penny.
Third born, Timothy John.
Siblings, Brother Mike Nichol (Debbie), sisters, Linda Mary, Patricia and Rita. Sister Francis Prestea (Clint) who passed this past year.
Doug Nichol (Roylene) , his cousin with whom he was very close and cousins Bruce Nichol (Terri), and Cathy (Adam) Flood.
Bill travelled all over the world with his job that he absolutely loved and made many friends throughout his travels. It bothered him to be gone from his children and to miss the many family events that he missed but he would always say, “who can say that they love their job as I do.” He considered himself to be most fortunate in that.
Bill’s family is asking that if anyone is wanting to do something in Bill’s name that they please send a donation to the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, 1200 Dufferin Crescent, Nanaimo, B.C. V9S 2B7
Bill is and will be missed into eternity, may he rest in peace and may the good Lord take care of the hearts that have been left behind.
