William David Davis
September 9, 1942 – November 6, 2021
Passed peacefully away at home on November 6, 2021, age 79 years, surrounded by his loving family, William (Bill) David Davis of Merrickville, Ontario, formerly of Carbonear, Newfoundland and Wabush, Labrador.
Forever loved and remembered by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis (née Forward ); son Jeremy, his wife Stacey and their son Kylan; son Jarrod, his wife Michelle and their sons Connor, Reece and Finley; son Justin and special niece, Marilyn Eddy.
Also leaving to mourn Bill’s passing are brothers-in-law Lloyd Forward (late Shirley), Carl Penney (late Barbara), Wendell Forward (Helen), and sister-in-law Georgiana Eddy (late Eric).
Bill is predeceased by his mother and father, Hettie and William Davis, mother and father-in-law Bertha and Augustus Forward; his sisters and brothers and their spouses: sisters Louise (Bill) Snow, Olive (William) Homer, Mildred (Pat) Dwyer and Margaret (Kevin) Earle, brothers: James (Florence) Davis and George Davis; brother and sister-in law Robert & Shirley Forward, and sister and brother-in-law Rose & Willis Warren.
Bill is also remembered by a large circle of very dear friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins across Canada and the US.
Bill’s family would like to express their appreciation to everyone who helped care for Bill at home during his long illness, especially: Care Coordinator Carla; Nurses Rebecca and Siobhan, and the many other nurses who provided care over the past 2 years; Dr. P. MacGregor; and Personal Support Workers Lori and Nikki, who went above and beyond the call of duty in their care of Bill; Lori and Nikki-words can never express our appreciation for everything you did in the 19 months you cared for Bill and in the days before, and the day of, his passing. You are truly ‘Angels Among Us’.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 2 PM at the Kemptville Chapel of Hulse Playfair & McGarry, 805 Prescott Street, Kemptville. Following Covid protocol, the family has requested that attendance be only available to fully vaccinated guests. Guests must register by RSVP using the link provided below this notice and QR Code or proof of vaccine will be required for entry. For those who wish to participate virtually, please use the following link below to access the live stream of the service. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to a reception at Catered Affairs, 820 Heritage Drive, Kemptville.
In lieu of flowers, Bill’s family would appreciate donations to the following: -to support research into the very rare hereditary disease that Bill lived with for several years and that ultimately ended his life-
