Vern Neufeld
April 9, 1940 – May 5, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Vern Neufeld announce his passing May 5th. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Tina Neufeld and brother Jake Neufeld. He is survived by his loving wife Elma of 60 years; children, Carolyn (Michael) Kinnear and Dennis (Jennifer) Neufeld; grandchildren, Jadyn and Adam Neufeld; brother John (Doris) Neufeld and sister in-law Shirley Neufeld, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vern started his career in banking in 1960 but moved careers to transportation when he joined Canadian Motorways in 1967 where he worked till its closing in 1993. He then purchased the courier division Motopak and ran it with his son Dennis till he retired in 2007.
Vern was very fortunate to be surrounded by many good friends including ones living in the Country Villas. Vern enjoyed hobbies that included reading, genealogy, golfing at Elmhurst, and creating scavenger hunts for Jadyn and Adam. Vern and Elma spent 34 years vacationing in Hawaii at the Banyon and found time to travel to many exotic locations around the world.
He will be greatly missed by all those who have had time to get to know him and spent time with him. In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place without services and any memorials will be private.
