Obituary of Wallace (Wally) James White
Wallace (Wally) James White was born on July 2, 1950 at Come by Chance, NL. His parents Pastors Thomas and Thelma White had three children, Margaret, Ivan and Wally.
In 1973, Wally attended Eastern Pentecostal Bible College for one year. Following college, he travelled with “The Blakley Singers” as their lead singer and travelled throughout Canada and the USA.
In 1976, Wally returned to Newfoundland and formed a Gospel Band Called “New Song” and travelled throughout the Island. Following New Song, Wally formed “Wally White Ministries”. His ministry continued throughout Canada and part of the USA until he retired from fulltime ministry in 2003. Some of his fondest memories in ministry were with Evangelist Bill Prankard for three years. He was also soloist for Evangelist John Raymer and was soloist in a Benny Hinn Crusade.
Wally was driven by a good concert and he had the honor of opening concerts for many great gospel artists…. Janet Pascal, John Starnes, Ivan Parker, Jessy Dixon, Dallas Holms, The Martins, JD Sumner and the Stamps, The Florida Boys, The Hinsons, Chuck Girard, Gorden Jensen plus many others.
Left with precious memories are his wife Shirley; son Matthew (Ashley); step-son David (Kristen) Cole; granddaughters Kylie Faith White, Teagan Paisley White; step-granddaughters Kylie May Cole, Grace Cole; sister Margaret (Gerard); brother Ivan (Hope); nieces Coralee, Jodelle; nephews Peter, David along with other family and friends.
