Wallace Wally Murray Brown Saturday October 16th 2021

It is with immense sadness that we let everyone know of Wally’s passing on October 16th, 2021.
Born on April 9th, 1941, in Clairville, N.B., he was the ninth child of Rankin and Lena (Beers) Brown.
Wally was the loving husband of Karen (Girvan) for 55 years and devoted father of Darin and Lana.
He graduated from Richibucto High School, NB, in 1959, and the N.B. Technical Institute in 1960. He worked for the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway from 1960 to 1967. Wally completed the Telephony Electronics and Radio Communications program through the International Correspondence School in 1967, and moved to Bridgewater, N.S. where he worked at Teleglobe Canada Inc. for 28 years.
Wally and Karen ran “Wooly Acres Farm” in Crousetown for 37 years. This was his true passion and calling and brought Wally the greatest joy, peace, and fulfillment.
Wally set the bar high for being a thoughtful, caring, and gentle human being. His love and respect for nature taught his children values that will last a lifetime. He aspired to give more to the world than what he took from it, and saw joy in the simple things in life.
Wally volunteered for 30 years with the Petite Riviere Cubs and Scouts, along with the Petite Riviere Watershed Advisory Committee. He was a member and trustee of St. Andrews United Church, the Crousetown Community Cemetery, and United Organizations of Crousetown. Wally was a member of the Bridgewater Kinsmen Club, and K-40 as well as an adherent of the Baptist Church in Mahone Bay.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, curling, skiing, driving his motorcycle, square dancing, RV’ing, travelling the world, hiking, nature, and spending time with family.
Wally’s diagnosis in 2014 of Alzheimer’s Disease turned our world upside down. He faced his diagnosis with grace and the challenging journey with dignity.
It’s difficult to sum up a man like Wally/Dad in a few words, although words like kind, faithful, unselfish are words that come to mind. We will tuck away our memories of him in our hearts forever. Wally’s final gift to others was the donation of his brain to the Maritime Brain Bank upon death, with hopes that researchers will find a cure for Alzheimer’s for future generations.
Wally is survived by his wife, Karen (Girvan), son Darin and wife Charlene and their girls – Caitlyn, Alannah, and Alyssa, Parksville, BC, daughter Lana Hicks and husband Stephen and their children, Ben and Emily, Fall River, NS. He is also survived by siblings Melbourne (Peggy), Qualicum, BC, Ralph (Mavis), Fredericton, NB, Warren (Eleanor) Halifax, NS, Vaughan (Donna), Bass River, NB, sister-in-law Harriet Brown Purdy, Moncton, NB, sister-in-law Pat Brown, Moncton, NB, brother-in-law Alf Fillmore of Rexton, NB, as well as Ruth and Reg Steeves of Moncton, NB, and Ross and Paula Girvan of Rexton, NB.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, and siblings Althea, Arnold, Hugh, Allison, and Charles.
