Obituary of Velma E. Wheeler
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, Velma E. Wheeler of Victoria and Creston, age 83 years.
Predeceased by husband: Harry; infant daughter: Brenda; son: Harry Jr.; mother: Mavis Moores; father: Boyd Evely; sister: Linda Corcoran.
Leaving to mourn, two sons: Terry (Bonnie), Calgary, AB and Wade (Ruth), Paradise; seven grandchildren: Kim (Max), Katie (Derek), Justin (Laura), Nicole (Seth), Jason, Jessica, and Sarah; five great-grandchildren: Luke, Ben, Chloe, Grace, and Nathan; three brothers: Ron Moores (Paula), Bay Roberts, Harvey (Rachel) Moores, Calgary, AB, and Lloyd (Edna) Moores, Victoria; one sister: Joan Moores, Victoria; brother-in-law: John Corcoran, Trepassey; special friend: Debbie Clouter Shea, Brampton, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to the residents and staff of Karwood Retirement Retreat, Paradise, especially Dr. Young.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private visitation will take at Noel’s Funeral Home, Carbonear, followed by funeral service on Sunday, February 7 from the Salvation Army Citadel, Carbonear, by invitation only. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Carbonear.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 137, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1B6.
