TIMOTHY ROBERT BELYEA
SEPTEMBER 23, 1964 – JANUARY 4, 2021
It is with profound sadness that the Belyea, Price and Downing Families announce the passing of Timothy Robert Belyea on Monday January 04, 2021 at the age of 56 years. Tim passed away peacefully, after a brief and sudden illness, while being cared for by the staff at Maple Manor Nursing Home, where Tim had been a resident since October of 2019. Tim was born on September 23, 1964, the fourth child of his parents Betty Price (formerly Belyea, nee Downing) and Claude (Duke) Belyea in Toronto, Ontario. Tim’s parents divorced in 1969 after multiple separations and attempts at reconciliation to hold the family together. Tim’s formative education began in Toronto at the age of 5 when he was enrolled in Beverly Street School in 1969. Tim loved going to and being a part of the special education program offered by the school under the auspices of the Toronto Board of Education. Tim moved to Tillsonburg, Ontario in 1974 where he continued his education until the age of 21 when he graduated from South Ridge Public School. After leaving the school system, Tim spent the remainder of his working life at ARC Industries and the Baxter Center, where he did numerous jobs. Through the many offerings of Community Living Tillsonburg he was able to partake in many recreational activities such as bowling, darts, basketball, swimming and Tim’s favorite, Barnabas Summer Camp. In addition, throughout his lifetime, Tim had the opportunity to travel extensively to visit his many relatives who live from coast to coast in Canada. He particularly loved visiting his grandmother, the late Pearl Downing of Aroostook, New Brunswick, more commonly known as Grammy Down. This does not preclude the equal love he had for his Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins who are too many to list and whose love for Tim was reciprocated. Tim lived his life to the fullest extent possible. He had no negative character traits, only positive. He had the smile of a Cheshire cat, a heart larger than our universe and an emotional bank account, flush with the denomination of love for all, that he shared without hesitation, with everyone he knew. Tim loved his sports. The Toronto Blue Jays and Raptors have lost an avid fan. Tim also loved hockey and wrestling. Tim was predeceased by his Grandparents Richard and Pearl Downing and Margerite and Saunders Wright, Grandfather Robert Belyea, his parents Betty and George Price, biological father Claude Belyea, sister Anne Belyea, stepbrother George Price, Uncle Richard (Dick) Downing, Aunt Anne Waugh and her husband Richard, Aunt Marg Morton, Aunt Norma Sherwood, Uncle Punch Walker and Aunts Phyllis Briggs and Shirley Melanson as well as Uncle Ronald Belyea. Left to mourn his passing are his eldest brother Ken Belyea, wife Lori and nephew and niece Glenn Belyea and Carol-Lynn Belyea-Belliveau, brother Claude Randall Belyea, wife Jeannie and nephew and niece Justin Belyea and Christine Belyea, nephews Jason Belyea and Shane Belyea, stepsister Lorraine Glowienka, stepbrother Joe Price, Aunts Alma Downing, Lois WalkerGillin, Nina Crooks, Connie Scott, and Uncles Jim Downing and Gerald Downing and Aunts Fran Valois and Gloria Maluga as well as his many cousins. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Maple Manor Nursing Home for making it possible to stay connected daily with Tim via Facetime. Brother Ken and mother Betty looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed each and every virtual visit and those moments will be forever held in our memories and hearts. Memorial donations can be made to Ontario Special Olympics in honor of Tim’s love for sports. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
