It is with profound sadness that we wish to announce the passing of Thomas Stuart “Tom” Hooker, loyal son of Marshall Moore Hooker and Jeanie Mary Hooker (nee Todd), on November 6, 2021 at the young age of 71, after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn the love of his life, Dorothy “Dotty” Hooker (nee Watson), and his cherished children, Jennifer “Jenny” (Alain Racine), Rebecca “Becky” (Matthew Reid), Pamela “Pam” (Yves Galarneau), Patricia “Trish” (Alex Hullar), and Marshall “Bud” (Meagan MacKenzie). He will be dearly missed by his beloved grandchildren, Mikayla, Sam, Stanley, Ella, Emma, Chloé, and Gavin. He was a loving brother to his siblings, Ruby (predeceased), Marsha “Mush” Watson (late Jim), Lawrence “Larry” (Debbie), and a fun uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Tom was born and raised in Huntingdon, QC until the age of 10 when his family moved to nearby Elgin, QC, where he lived out the rest of his life with his true love, Dotty. Tom and Dotty were married for 48 loving years. During that time, they created a beautiful family of four daughters and a son. A hardworking family man, Tom owned and operated a foundry business with his brother Larry for over 40 years. He was very dedicated to his profession and often worked long hours to get a job done. Tom was happiest surrounded by family, whether it was family gatherings or insightful chats about current affairs. He was a great conversationalist, a natural poet, and was never at a loss for words. His spirit lives on through his many poems, which he gave to his loved ones on special occasions. Tom was the life of the party and will be remembered for his eccentric dance moves, contagious laughter, and mischievous smile. He was a humble man, a listener first, and was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He had a generous spirit and will live on through the memories of all who were privileged enough to have known him. May he rest in peace. Visitation will be held at Rodrigue Montpetit et Fils Inc. funeral home in Huntingdon, QC on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 7:00pm-9:00pm.
A private service will be held for family and close friends. If you would like to share a special memory of Tom with his family, please write it down and there will be a memory box available at the funeral home where you can leave it.
