Susan Delphine Nichols March 17th 2021 avis de deces

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Susan Nichols (nee Beattie) on March 17, 2021.
Susan was born in Trail on February 22, 1941 to parents Ron and Gerri Beattie, one of seven – siblings Colleen, Molly, Paul, Ronaye, Candy and Cyndi – all with the beautiful Beattie blue eyes.
Susan is predeceased by husband Ed, with whom she shared wonderful memories and a love of the outdoors, travelling and family which includes their children A.J. and Ann-Marie, Son and Daughter-in law – Duncan and Monica, grandchildren Finn, Tabitha, Sophia and Maya and generations of nieces and nephews.
In her youth Susan was a keen swimmer and figure skater and spent summers at the Arrow Lakes with her family. Susan had a love for art and was a talented artist and sketcher, a skill and passion she continued over her lifetime. She was known for her sense of style, colour and design, with the ability of making any outfit look fabulous and designing and transforming rooms and spaces.
Susan was regular walker of the path from Sunningdale and ‘the Bridges’ and a prolific reader, she enjoyed nothing more than discussing a good book over a cup of earl grey tea or chai latte. Susan was also well known for her love of gardening, of which she took great delight in creating magical spaces.
She loved to travel and enjoyed many memorable trips including multiple ‘Sisters’ trips’ with her sisters and brother Paul; a walking holiday in England with her sister Candy; exploring ancient ruins in Greece and Turkey with husband Ed; joining family in Mexico and even living in India.
Susan was a much loved ‘Nana’ to Finn, Tabi, Sophia and Maya – and always had time for a cuddle and a chat. She took great delight in finding new books for their visits. All the grandchildren have fond memories of swimming with Nana, enjoying summertime root beer floats as well as almond cherry ball cookies and homemade stockings at Christmas.
Susan encouraged all to follow their dreams and seek out adventures. This was a gift her family is eternally grateful for: “Take time to see the world in a grain of sand and enjoy the beauty and details around you.”
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made online or by phone in Susan’s name to Columbia View Lodge via The Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation; at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca or at (250) 364-3424.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Susan Delphine Nichols March 17th 2021..
