Stephen’s Obituary
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Stephen Edward Ross. Steve, a long time resident of Fairview, AB, passed away in Fairview on August 10 after a brave battle with cancer at the age of 59 years.
Steve was born in Red Deer to Cliff and Ann, and lived all over Alberta and Saskatchewan through his childhood, with strong ties to Lloydminister and Arborfield. In adulthood, Steve’s roots were planted deeply in the Fairview area where he and Tamara raised their family and built their business. He was well known in the Peace Country for reliable service proudly provided by Fairview Towing, which he founded in 1989. Steve was a prankster, he enjoyed joking and visiting with company out on the deck, spending time with his family and his beloved dog Chicken, and above all, his time spent in his tow trucks. Steve was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He took pride in the level of service he, Tammy, and Steven provided to the community.
He is survived by his favorite coffee partner and wife of 33 years, Tamara; his children, Shanti (Mark) Mittelstadt, Steven Ross and Jordyn Ross; and his grandchildren Flint and Marshall Mittelstadt, to whom he meant the world. His mother Ann Leslie, brother Walter (Barb) Ross and sister Gayle Ross; brothers-in-law Len (Bonnie) Seaton and Geordie Seaton, sister-in-law Peggy (Jeff) Seaton, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Steve was predeceased by his father, Cliff Ross; brother Wendell Ross; nephew Carlin Ross and Mother-in-law Marie Seaton Klem.
Steve spent his last week in the Palliative Care Unit at the Fairview Hospital and we would like to extend thanks to Dr. Irvine, the nurses and other staff that took such good care of him in his final days.
A service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at EE Oliver. Private interment to follow at the Waterhole Cemetery. Following the service, a reception will be held at EE Oliver.
