Sinikka Martikkala (Ylä-Autio)
It is with great sadness that the family of Sinikka Helena Martikkala announce her passing on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Sudbury at the age of 82. Sinikka was born in Finland to Lauri and Sanni Ylä-Autio, both predeceased. Beloved wife/honey of Reijo Martikkala of 63 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Jari (Eija), Harri (predeceased), Asko (Kathy), Pirjo (Ben) and Marju (predeceased). She adored her grandchildren Meliisa (Eyjólfur), Jonna (Mike), Jason (Josée), Kris (Monica), Eric (Laura), Jessica (Scott), Aaron, Derek, Kerri (Ben) and Candice. Each one was a “kulta” to her. Much loved Mummu (Great-grandmother) to Jack, Avery, Aidan, Kaisen, Ellie, Logan, Kiya, Ezra, Layla, James and Carly. Dear sister of Reino of Finland; predeceased by brothers Erkki and Matti. Sinikka loved to bake pulla (Finnish coffee bread) and rye bread, sew and spend time at camp surrounded by birch trees and flowers. She was a faithful member of the Siion Finnish Pentecostal Church. She will be missed by family and friends in Finland and Canada. A memorial service will be held at a later time. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca.
