It is with deep sadness that the family of the late SHIRLEY M. LANE of Marystown announces her passing. Shirley passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Sunday, December 19th, 2021 at the age of 78.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Gus Lane (Heather) of Winterland, Tim Lane (Nanis) of Ontario, and Stan Lane (Noemi) of Poland; daughters, Dianne Lane (Keith Squires) of Holyrood, Wanda Gaulton (Carl) of Marystown, Madeline Lane of Nova Scotia, Anita Hynes (Gary) of Marystown, and Cathy Murphy (Bobby) of Marystown; 20 grandchildren, Cindy (Chris), Scott (Tiffanie), Jon, Gillian (Rob), Zachary, Tara, Candace (Colin), Victoria, Andrew (Julia), Alexander (Ashley), Jessica (Aron), Erica (Tristan), Michael (Anna), Matthew (Kelly), Kaden, Emma, Maxi, Megan, Nicholas (Emily), and Brandon (Brandy); great-grandchildren, Emma, Gracie, Chloe, Amelia, Sam, Amelia, Callum, Lily and Jackson; brothers, Raymond Lake (Irene), Peter Lake (Nora), Arch Lake (Alice), John Lake and Jim Lake (Bonnie); plus a large number of family and friends.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Lane; parents, William & Margaret Lake; and brother, Patrick Barron.
The Lane Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Homes, Marystown on

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, alert level 2, this will be a walk through visitation. When entering the funeral home you will be required to show proof of vaccination and photo ID. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown on a date and time to be announced. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Marystown.
In Shirley’s memory donations may be sent to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown or flowers gratefully accepted.
