Sheila Mary Trainor (nee McNeil)

With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Sheila Mary Trainor (nee McNeil) of Trepassey passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, Friday, October 8, 2021.
Sheila is predeceased by her parents Albert and Catherine McNeil, father and mother-in-law Denis and Annie Trainor; brother James, sisters-in -law Josephine and Gertie, brothers-in-law Harold and Fintan and special friends Ross and Shirley Barney.
Leaving to mourn and cherish the wonderful memories of her life are her devoted husband of 52 years Dick, her loving daughter Cathy (Donnie), her pride and joy, her grandson Cameron Murphy and her furry Schnauzer friend Willow.
Also leaving to mourn are her sisters and brothers, Phyllis (Ken Robson), Gladys (Wally Edwards), Harry (Angela), Kevin (Marie), sisters-in-law and life long friends Patricia and Irene McNeil, Genevieve Walsh, Edwina Kenny as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Her Godchild, Jill McNeil, whom she called her second daughter, our neighbours Robert and Bernadette Vincent and home care workers, Marguerite and Janine Cave who were always there for Mom. She loved you all dearly.
A very heartfelt thank you to the wonderful medical staff of 5 South A, especially Dr. Rose; nurses Alicia, Matthew, Alex, Shauna, Laura and Tonya. The family very much appreciated your care and compassion.
Mom will be resting at Fahey’s Funeral home in Trepassey on Saturday, October 16 from 10AM- 12PM and 2 – 9PM.
The funeral mass will take place 11:30 am at Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will be done at a later date as per mom’s wishes.
Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations can be made in her memory to Holy Redeemer Parish, Trepassey.
