It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Lillian Dennis announce her passing on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, Niagara Falls, ON, at the age of 83 years. Shirley was born and raised in Newfoundland, and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Shirley moved to Ontario to be with her children following the passing of her husband in 2017. Shirley is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Russell Dennis, and four sisters, Olive, Anita, Gertie, and Mona, and brother Samuel. She is survived by her son Michael (Jean) and daughter Michelle (Clayton), and her grandchildren: Marcus, Julia, Brady, Taylor, and Shawn, as well as her sisters, Susie, Verna, Gloria, and Catherine, and her brothers Cordell and Norman, and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks is extended to the extraordinary staff in the Palliative Care Unit at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Cremation will take place later this week with a graveside Memorial planned for Friday, August 13, 2021 at the United Church Cemetery, Woody Point, Bonne Bay, Newfoundland at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
