Rudolph Amatruda Thursday November 25th 2021 avis de deces

AMATRUDA, Rudolph “Rudy” – It is with great sadness, yet admiration of a life well lived, that we announce the passing of our family patriarch, Rudolph Amatruda on November 25th, 2021.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Francesca; four children, Joseph (Patricia Ann), Victor (Maureen), Paul (Anita) and Joanne (Darryl). Nine grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mike), Kalina, Anthony, Sarah (Greg), Nicole, Camden, Kaylyn, Cole, Tycho and his first great-grandchild, Zachary. Predeceased by his father Camillo, mother Giovanna and siblings George, Maria, Victor, Danny, Rosa and Mario.
Rudy Amatruda was born in Dundee, Scotland, April 20th, 1924. He was a humble, unassuming man, who was kind, gracious, loving and respectful with all those he encountered in his lifetime. In his personal and working life he made it a priority to do things with good purpose. During WW2 he enlisted and served in the British army from June 17th, 1943 until his discharge on July 3rd, 1947. Rudy left England arriving in Kitchener on August 9th, 1951. He later married the love of his life, Francesca Curci on June 29th, 1953. Their lives together were as such; ‘True love never dies’.
In his working life as a people person, he found great satisfaction in providing quality service to his customers. His talents were recognized and appreciated by his clientele, supervisors and co-workers. He was a co-owner of the Lyric Coffee Shop (Kitchener) and the Capri Restaurant (Guelph). He was later employed at the Walper Hotel, the Westmount Golf and Country Club and finally as a long-standing employee at the KW Granite Club on Agnes Street in Kitchener.
One of his great joys was hosting dinner parties with family and friends, celebrating together in his home. He especially enjoyed sharing his culinary talents, knowledge, experiences and wisdom with his loving grandchildren.
He was well travelled, and took great joy in returning to his family’s ancestral roots in the tiny hamlet of Pontone, Comune di Scala, Italy. On the terrace with Frances by his side, they had their little slice of heaven with Amalfi below, Ravello in view, the mountains behind, and the bay of Salerno in front. Upon their arrival, the Priest and villagers would embrace them and say ‘the Two Swallows have returned to Pontone’.
The family thanks Dr. Kolev, the nursing staff, PSW’s and caregivers at Trinity Village Care Centre for their kindness and quality service during Dad’s final year of life with them.
Rudy led his life through positive virtues, while embracing the end graciously. May we all find solace in the wake of his passing, knowing how he touched and enriched our lives in word and deed. The Dundee man has done good!
