Ruby May Gough (Quinton), age 67, passed away on January 2, 2021. Ruby was born on May 23, 1953 in Bonavista, Newfoundland where she met her teenage sweetheart and lifetime love at the age of 15. Her and her husband of 47 years, Robert Gough, resided in Bonavista.
While her first loves were her husband and daughter, Paulette Gough Tribe, what Ruby loved most was to help people. She was the first one her siblings called on to lend a helping hand, whether it was a home cooked meal, a few dollars or just an ear to listened. She was small in stature but big in heart – as her daughter loved to tease her.
Since Ruby passed on Saturday morning, she’s been called an angel, a blessing to this earth, and a special soul. She was all of these things – and so much more. She was quiet but loved fiercely and permanently – especially when she became a nanny to her first and only grandson, Benjamin Tribe, age 8. He was the light of her life.
Her life was a living example of her the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Ruby is survived by her husband Robert Gough, daughter Paulette Gough Tribe (son in law Christopher Tribe), and grandson Benjamin Tribe. Ruby also leaves behind 8 brothers and sisters and their children and grandchildren. All of these she loved and cared for deeply.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daffodil Place, the Canadian Cancer Society, 1-888-753-6520.
