Obituary of Roy Walter Ireland
It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Roy Walter Ireland Sr. of Delaware at Victoria Hospital on Saturday, August 28th, 2021, in his 76th year.
Beloved husband of the late Janet Ireland (nee: McLay) (January 5, 2021). Dearly loved father of Roy Ireland Jr. (Leslea Ernewein) and Candace Faria. Proud grandpa of Stuart, Jill, Jacob, Mattias, Preston, and Harley. Dear brother of Janet (Ted) Burtwistle, Don (Ruth), Jim (Jean), Eleanor (Ron) Adams, Bill (Lois), Edie (Howie), and Lillian (Gerald) Lawrence. Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Predeceased by his parents Donald (1991) and Marguerite Ireland (2020) and his infant sister Ruth.
Family will receive friends at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 1st from 2-4 and 6-9 pm where a Private family Celebration of Roy’s Life will be held on Thursday. Interment Oakland Cemetery, Delaware at a later date.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Victoria Hospital, C700 Oncology, for all their care and compassion provided to Roy.
