Obituary of Roy M. Halliday
Passed peacefully away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer, Roy M. Halliday of Job’s Cove, age 79 years.
Predeceased by his parents: Will John and Bessie; brothers: Robert (Myrtle) and Monford; parents-in-law: John and Mary Knapman; brother-in-law: Robert (Jean) Knapman.
Leaving to mourn, his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Carol; sons: Brad (Mary-Jo) and Barry (Kathleen); three grandchildren: Josh, Matthew, and Amber; sister-in-law: Anne Halliday; brother-in-law: Richard (Christine) Knapman; special friends: Norm, Gloria, Betty, and Patrick.
Fondly remembered by a large circle of nieces and nephews, as well as fellow campers at Golden Arm R.V. Park. Roy worked at Household Movers until his retirement in 1999. He spent his retirement continuing to make memories with his family and friends while golfing, camping, and moose hunting.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private committal service will take place on Tuesday, February 16 at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Job’s Cove. As an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel, P.O. Box 55, Lower Island Cove, NL, A0A 2W0.
