It is with great sorrow that the family of Rosaleen McEvoy announces her passing on July 5, 2021, after a short but mighty battle with pancreatic cancer.
Rosaleen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family: husband of 45 years, Clement; children, Niall and Anne (Tyler), and Nana to her beloved grandchildren, Darby Moen-McEvoy, Kian, Soren and Lyndon Hanson; brothers, Peter (Mary), Liam (Siobhan) and Gervais. She will also be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, many friends and relatives in Ireland.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Molly Sheridan.
Rosaleen was born in Bessbrook, Northern Ireland, in 1949 and emigrated to Canada with Clement in 1974, settling in St. Albert, where together, they built a home and brought up their two children. Rosaleen pursued her dream of further education and earned two degrees from the University of Alberta. She served 12 years as a School Trustee for Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools. She was an active volunteer in her community and will be remembered for her vibrant and passionate spirit.
A Funeral Mass of Rosaleen’s life will be Celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 75 Poirier Avenue St. Albert.
Memorial donations may be made to the Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools Education Foundation, 6 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert, Alberta, T8N 1K2.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Unit 15 at the Sturgeon Community Hospital for their care and compassion.
