Bobbie will be remembered fondly as the kindest Mom, sister, grandmother and friend that we could ever hope for. She loved her family and friends dearly and always had a smile, an empathetic ear and a shoulder to cry on when needed.
An active member of the congregation at the Anglican Cathedral, her faith was strong and she drew so much joy from her many friendships and activities at church which included many years of Sunday School teaching, helping out at the Tea Room and as a member of the Altar Guild.
Bobbie also loved a good time – whether it be at card games, family get-togethers, travels abroad with friends and family, summers spent in Happy Adventure, church functions, or when racking up a high score at bowling. She was also a life-long watcher of Coronation Street, a lover of cats and word puzzles, and an avid Habs fan (whose playoff success gave her a much-needed “spark” during her illness). She loved Christmas time most of all (so many decorations and cookies!), when her family and friends could come and be together with her.
For Bobbie, her greatest love and joy was on display when visiting with her three grandchildren in Ottawa (Timothy, Douglas and Lucie), whom she absolutely adored. In turn, they deeply loved their “Grandma Green” and will miss her dearly.
Bobbie was predeceased by her husband Winston, mother Pearl and father Hector. Left to mourn and celebrate her life are her children Jennifer (Paul), Geoff (Katherine) and David, sisters Minnie (Lloyd, deceased), Shirley (Jim), Marina (Herbert, deceased), Patricia (David), Carol (David, deceased), brother Winston (Kay) and grandchildren Timothy, Douglas and Lucie. She was predeceased by sisters Lorraine, Theresa and brother Hector.
Ready to be reunited with Dad again, Mom passed away peacefully at her home of 52 years after a brief illness.
We were extremely lucky to have our dear Mom in our lives for her 81 years, and grateful for the joyful memories of her that we will always have.
She will be forever in our hearts.
