Richard Osborne « Rick »
Nursey – 73, Bedford,
formerly of Beaver Bank, passed away peacefully, with family at his
side, on Tuesday evening, April 13, 2021, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII,
Halifax. Born in Toronto, he was a son of the late William and Irene
(Smith) Nursey.
Rick worked for 30 years with Ford Motor Company of Canada,
starting in 1973 in Oakville, Ontario and then transferred to Halifax
in 1974. He was a car man all of his life, from the time he was a
teenager until his death. He loved cars! He was a member of Knox
United Church, Lower Sackville, where he served on the Finance
Committee and also volunteered with Beaver Bank Community Centre. He
and Pat travelled to Florida for ten years, Dominican Republic for
eight years and took many cruises to various places around the
world.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of almost 49 years,
Patricia « Pat » (Goldham); sons, Robert John « Bob »
(Crystal), Dartmouth; Richard James « Jimmy », Halifax;
grandchildren, Hunter, MacKenzie, Kaley; sister, Catherine Nursey,
Toronto; brother, William (Mary-Lynn), Parksville, British Columbia;
many nieces, great nieces and great nephews.
Celebration of Rick’s life will be held 1 p.m.,
Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Knox United Church, 567 Sackville Drive,
Lower Sackville, Reverend Sandra Cox officiating. (Please note that
seating is limited and you must pre-register with the church office by
calling 902-865-9216; masks must be worn at all time while in the
church, remain in your family bubbles and practice physical
distancing. Live webcast of the funeral service will begin at 12:55
p.m., Wednesday and may be viewed from the funeral home website; you
will find the link on Rick’s obituary.) Interment in
Oakridge Memorial Gardens, 1078 Old Sackville Road, Middle Sackville.
No flowers, please. If so desired, donations in Rick’s
memory to Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Canada are
welcomed.
