RICHARD GRAYDON FAULKNER (1944-2021). Born in Newmarket and raised in Simcoe, Ontario to Margaret (Rogers) and Roy Faulkner. He is survived by his loving wife and companion of nearly 30 years, Ann Ross, and his children, Christopher (Danielle) of Toronto, Julia of Ottawa, Sean (Gracia) of Guelph, and stepchildren Tavis (Keri) of Clarksburg, Lindsay (Detton) of Port Moody, BC, and Mackenzie (Nick) of North Vancouver, BC. He is also survived by his brother David, as well as his 10 grandchildren who all adored their “Pappy”.
For more than 25 years, he taught at Cameron Street and Admiral Collingwood Public Schools in Collingwood, Ontario, where he was a beloved and respected colleague and teacher. He believed passionately in the importance of education and continued his own pursuit of knowledge throughout his life. He was a constant source of support and optimism. He loved being outdoors with friends and family, whether golfing, skiing, or walking. He could also be found enjoying quiet pastimes such as wood working, painting, or drawing. He will be dearly missed and warmly remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
