Passed away peacefully on July 17, 2021 at 91 years of age. Beloved husband of Doris (Dot) (nee Nevard) for 68 years. Loving father of Kay Bryan and Nevard Walters (Grace). Dear grandad of Darcy Hurst (Timothy), Jennifer Forget (Kevin), Shawn Walters (Christine), Kerry Bryan, Angela White (Josh), Nadine Walters (Alain Robitaille), Keith Bryan (Mikaele), Chelsea Montgomery (Owen), and Brigitte Walters. Great-grandad of Zackary, Wyatt, Mia, Max, Max and Elodie. Brother of the late Eileen Mason (late Peter), Elsie Gove, (late David) and Robert Walters (Janet). Uncle to several nieces and nephews in England.
Reg moved from Northern Ireland to England with his family at age nine. He apprenticed as a wood pattern maker in the aircraft industry before immigrating to Canada. He was retired from Ford Motor Company after many years of dedicated service. Reg and Dot were happiest ballroom dancing together (they met at a dance in England when they were 16) and were longtime members of the Scottish Club of Windsor. Reg enjoyed many different hobbies and activities throughout his life. He kept tropical fish, owned a sailboat, golfed, did woodwork, gardened, and followed English football. He loved watching the birds in his back garden, apple pie, strawberry-rhubarb pie and especially going for “a drive” and stopping for an ice cream cone.
A special thank you to the staff at Extendicare Southwood Lakes for all of their care and compassion. Remember Reg the next time you have an ice cream and if you desire, memorial tributes to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Reginald Reg Walters 2021..
