Obituary of Randolph Gray Smith
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Randolph Gray Smith. Randy was born in Kentville on October 11, 1944 and passed away on January 21, 2021 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Throughout his life, Randy enjoyed, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, fly tying, drawing, painting, writing and all sports, especially the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. During his lifetime he worked for CP Express, Irving Oil, Annapolis Valley School Board and was a Real Estate Agent.
Randy is survived by his wife and best friend of 50 years, Margaret Eleanor (Ritchie) Smith; his children, Patrick Allen Gray Smith and Rebecca Margaret Smith (Brian Lockhart); his sisters Maxiene Phinney, Norah (Gary) Cameron; sister-in-law, Joanne Smith; brothers Bill (Peggy) Smith, Mike (Carol) Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
Randy was predeceased by his brother Millard Smith; parents Bill and Jessie Smith.
Randy spent his life being a loving wonderful husband, father, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He touched many lives.
There will no funeral service, a celebration of Randy’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the to Hope for Wildlife , Canadian Diabetes Assoc. , Canadian Cancer Society , or charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
