Obituary for
Randall Suprovich
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness, the family announces the sudden passing of Randall Michael Suprovich, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 8, 2021.
He is survived by his loving family and will be sadly missed by his daughter, Charmaine Ponech; son, Shane; and daughter-in-law, Charla; and his great joy, his one-year-old grandson, Elster Suprovich; mother, Eleanor Suprovich; four siblings, Donna (Gordan) Hicks, Bonnie Kooger, Al (Grace ) Suprovich, Christine (John) Leach and his many nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his father, Dick Suprovich in 1999; and his baby brother, Wayne in 1953.
Randy will be greatly missed by his numerous relatives and many dear friends who he cherished.
Randy moved off the farm to Edmonton, beginning a trucking career with the City of Edmonton for 35 years, retiring in 2012. During those years, he was an accomplished truck driver. It was with great pride he took top prizes twelve times at the City of Edmonton Annual Truck Rodeo. It did not take long for Randy to become bored with retirement, so he took up ‘part-time’ employment with other trucking companies. Ultimately, this was an opportunity for Randy to spend countless hours on the phone connecting with family and friends that he loved dearly.
In the last year it would have been impossible to chat with Randy for more than 5 minutes and not hear about the God who had saved him or his grandson Elster. Undoubtedly these two things had become his greatest trophies in life. Randy had a zest for life, and always had a smile for whatever life threw at him. He would never allow the result of an experience to hold him back from trying again, he would just try harder. He had a great sense of humor and displayed his passion with exuberance.
Randy was notably a talented mechanic, with an ability to fix nearly anything that had a motor. In 2012 he bought a motorcycle and started biking again. Randy was always happy to pull out a deck of cards and play whatever you wanted if you would stay just a little longer. He loved to nurture life in and outside of his garden, always wanting to share with those he cared about, and taking time to preserve what he had worked so hard for. Puttering on his acreage gave him great joy.
Randy had a boisterous and demanding personality, always wanting things the way he saw best. He was also quick to set an example, to let go, to forgive, to forget – no matter what. That’s Randy, fiercely loyal, displaying love and kindness to all around him, always finding the time to help someone else, never expecting anything in return.
Colossians 3:15-17 “Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other.” None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness.
Let the Word of Christ, the Message – have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And Sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let Every detail in your lives – words, actions, whatever -be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.
Due to COVID restrictions currently in place, the funeral will be by invite only. As we understand that Randy has touched so many people, the following livestream link will be available to those who cannot attend. Livestream of the service will begin Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 10 a.m.
