Pieter Harmsma passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, at the Brockville General Hospital on September 23, 2021. He was 91 years old. He was the beloved husband of Hinke (van der Wal) for 69 years. He was also a loving father to five children, a cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren and an awesome great grandfather to 21 great grandchildren:

He was predeceased by his son, Henry Harmsma.
Pieter was also predeceased by his father Poppe and his mother Iebeltje, his brother Hendrik and his three sisters Griet, Anne and Steintje.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Judson’s Funeral Home in Athens on Monday, September 27, 2021, from 2 – 4 pm and from 7 – 9 pm. A celebration of life will be held at the Athens Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute, BGH Palliative Care or to Athens Christian Reformed Church will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
