Obituary
Phyllis Stevens (Melbourne) age 94 years. Born September 3, 1927 at Channel, Newfoundland, passed peacefully away on Thursday November 4, 2021 at Pleasant View Towers, St. John’s, NL.
Predeceased by her husband Allen R. Stevens (2008); parents Samuel (1975) and Martha Jane (1947) of Port aux Basques; siblings Samuel and Cyril (1923), Robert (1929),Willoughby (1936), Stuart (1938), Ada (1942) and Mary Reynolds (2019); brothers- in- law Frank Stevens and Thomas Stevens; sisters-in-law Shirley Elliott and Audrey Mercer (Lewis).
Leaving to mourn, her son James Melbourne (Carol); sister Roberta Warfield (Thomas); grandchildren Geoffrey, Jason (Anna); great grandchildren Charlie and Grace; nephews Terry (Eve) Warfield and Paul Reynolds; nieces Rochelle Warfield, Debbie Reynolds, sister-in-law Florence Stevens, brother-in-law Boyce Elliott and a large circle of relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff and management of Tiffany Village for the care and compassion given to Phyllis over the past five years that she lived there as well as the compassionate care that Dr. Penton provided for her there. We would also like to express our appreciation to the staff and management at Pleasant View Towers for the compassionate Palliative Care given to Phyllis during her stay with them.
Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home. There will be no public visitation at request. Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday November 10th, 2021 at 2:00pm for immediate family only, from Barrett’s Funeral Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John’s with internment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The service will be live-streamed and a link can be found on the main page of Barrett’s Website. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
