In loving memory of Philip F. Gniazdoski, 98 years, who died peacefully Thursday, December 30th, 2021 at Health Sciences North.
Predeceased by his wife Helen (Daniluk) August 20th, 2006, his parents Justyna and Fred Gniazdoski. He is survived by his daughter Sandra, son Brian (wife Carolyn), and grandsons Mark (Sonja), Philip (Rebekah), and Shawn (Shannon) and great-granddaughter Natalie.
Brother of Walter (predeceased), Orville (Dorinda) (both predeceased), Albin (predeceased) (Annette), and Edward (Lillia) (both predeceased), Alex Manning, and predeceased by sisters Helen, Olga, and Isobel. Will be missed by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Phil retired from the CN Rail service station department after 36 years of service, he also worked for Via Rail for a short time. Phil served for 12 years as a town councillor for the Town of Coniston and Town of Nickel Centre, a federal returning officer in the Nickel Belt riding for 1979, 1980, 1984 Elections. He was a member of the Morse Telegraph Club.
Honourable life member of the Sudbury Game and Fish Association 1958, Charter Member Coniston Lions Club 1964, Lions Governor District 1982-83. Phil received the Lions Helen Kellar Award, Lions Melvin Jones Award, Life member of the Lions Foundation of Canada, and he lived the Lions motto “we serve on a daily basis”.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Westmount Retirement Home staff, Dr. Emily Dube, Dr. Mark Dube and the staff at HSN for their excellent care and support.
