Peter, who was number nine in a family of ten, was born and raised in Hawkesbury, Ontario. He adored his wife, was devoted to his sons, and protective of his mother. He had the biggest hands and the biggest heart. He loved working with his hands as a carpenter supervisor for Cadieux Construction. He will be deeply missed by his bosses Gabrielle Cadieux-Lafleche and Michel Lepage, co-workers and many friends. Thank you to Dr. Anthony Di Cintio and the many PSW home care workers, with special thanks to Johanne Richard for her extra care and compassion. To the Bayshore nurses, thank you, especially Christina Holley, Peter’s niece, who traveled from London, Ontario to support Manon and help care for Peter. Thank you to Marian Holley for organizing the meal train and all those who contributed to the wonderful meals. Also, thank you to Jean Kerr, Beth Higginson and the Hawkesbury Rotary Club for the gift of meals also. Thank you to Rev. Dana Johnson for her kind visits when Peter was sick and her blessing at the end.
We are so proud of Peter’s legacy to Live, Love, and Laugh:
to LIVE each day to the fullest whether one has a long life or only weeks or days remaining.
to LOVE family, friends, and strangers MORE.
to LAUGH and leave this world a better place accepting that God alone is the Captain of our soul and the Master of our fate.
Rest in peace Peter till we meet again.
Because Holy Trinity Church in Hawkesbury is closed at this time due to COVID19, when it reopens, we’ll have a small service with live virtual access. In addition, a Celebration of Peter’s Life will be held at a future date in the summer outdoors where Peter loved to go to “Welby” the family farm by the iconic Round Barn. After this celebration, the burial of the ashes will take place at Cassburn Cemetery. No confirmed date yet.
