Peggy Frances Greenberg
It is with great sadness that the family of Peggy Greenberg announces her peaceful passing at home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the age of ninety-one. Peggy was born on March 4, 1930, in Montreal, daughter of the late Bertha (Matlin) and the late Isidore Brigger. Loving wife of Melvin (Buddy) for seventy-two years. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Susan and Dr. Matthew Rifkin, Paula Greenberg and Laurie Hayman, Mark Greenberg and Lise Gallant. Proud grandmother of Adam Rifkin and Laura Neiman, Jason Rifkin and Allison Comer, David Greenberg, Michael Greenberg and Laura Rose Sands. Peggy will be fondly remembered by Kate and Justin Garant and their children, Ellie and Benjamin Garant, Mary Ewing, David Ewing and Cassie Marshall, Allyson Lupovich and James Longmire, and Matthew Lupovich. Grandma Peggy will be deeply missed by her dearest great-grandchildren, Amy and Zoe Rifkin; Sabrina and Coco Rifkin. Dearest sister and sister-in-law of the late Rhoda Golick Shinoff and Paul Shinoff and the late Jack Golick. Sister-in-law of Marlene and the late David Bourke, and the late Lorna Scherzer. Loving aunt of Stephanie Scherzer, Brian and Judi Scherzer, Renee and Joel Schachter, Nanci and Gary Segal, Julie and Sheldon Kuchinsky, Eric Foch, and Tony Foch. Peggy was loved by all who knew her. She was a generous and gracious woman who valued the importance of friends and cultivated loyal, life-long friendships. The family would like to acknowledge with sincere gratitude her caregivers, Karen, Josie and Venus, for their exceptional care, kindness and devotion. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Piché and nurse Sherry Blackmore of the CLSC Metro, who regularly went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure Peggy’s comfort and well-being. A private graveside service will take place. Shiva strictly private.
