Paula Marie Mullen nee Hooper 19552021 avis de deces

Paula Marie Mullen (nee Hooper)
1955-2021
Paula Marie Mullen, nee Hooper – Bedford,
PEI
Surrounded by her family, who she loved more than anything in
the world, Paula passed away at the QEH after a brief period of
illness from cancer on Sunday, November 28th, 2021. Born on June 17th,
1955, in Charlottetown PE, Paula was raised in Bedford PE and moved to
Halifax NS at 19 where she had her first child. PEI quickly called her
back and she returned to the same community she was raised in and
lived the rest of her life there.
Predeceased by her mother Marie Hooper (nee McQuaid), her
father Reginald Hooper, her step-father George MacDonald, her
granddaughter Leah Satine Harding, as well as many other dearly missed
family and friends.
Left to miss Paula is her devoted partner, Paul Palmer; her
beloved children, Tanya, Sasha, Trish (Jordan), Becky (Jaclynne), and
Liam (Shelby); her grandchildren, Rowan, Keegan, and Aden MacNeil;
Reilly, Delaney, Mackenzey, and Cassidy Gormley; and Brecken Harding;
her siblings Wayne Hooper (Carol), David Hooper (Paula), Eric Hooper
(Bernie), Karen Hooper (Dave) and Sonya Hooper (Ben); her goddaughter
Randell Duguid (Irish); as well as nieces, nephews, cousins,
great-nieces and nephews, family friends and
neighbours.
Paula was a committed civil servant for three decades, but at
the heart of Paula’s world was her family and she was known
for her hospitality. She was always the first to show up with a hot
meal or freshly baked goods for a friend in need. Because she
underestimated her own kitchen talents (though no one else did!) she
always made it her first priority to find the best bakery or chocolate
shop in every town she visited. Her culinary talents extended to
canning and preserving, and the few remaining jars of pickles and jams
on her shelf will be fought over by many and the recipes cherished.
Paula discovered a passion for community theatre in recent years, and
expressed this through her involvement with the « Tracadie
Players ». When she wasn’t hosting house concerts, dinner parties, or
weekly bingo nights for « Paula’s Players »,
spending time with her grandkids, going to live music events, or
winning at crib; she could be found admiring and identifying birds,
reading a book on the beach, tending to her flower and vegetable
gardens, or puttering about the house with a paintbrush in
hand.
Resting at Hennessey’s Funeral Home in
Charlottetown. Public visitation to be held Friday, December 3, 2021,
from 4-7 pm (anyone with PEI VAX Pass and photo ID welcomed). Private
funeral service for family and invited guests only will be held
Saturday, December 4th. Those unable to participate in person may join
the funeral service via live stream. The link will be available prior
to the service by visiting Paula’s obituary at
