Peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Paul Edward Lockwood passed on January 1, 2021. Paul was born on April 22nd , 1925, first son to J. Bernard Lockwood and Jennie Ann (Hall) Lockwood. Paul’s life was an ongoing adventure. During WW2 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served until the end of the war on the destroyer HMCS Annapolis out of Halifax. After discharge Paul spent one year at UNB then returned home to apprentice with his Father’s Jewellery business as a watchmaker, graduating later from Ryerson Teck. in Toronto with a Graduate Jewellers Degree.
In 1953 he married his sweetheart Dawn and the next year he followed his other passion Music and became a member of the RHR Black Watch Military Band of Canada and later the Canadian Artillery Band serving for the next 20 years in postings in Halifax, Oromocto, Germany and Montreal, his instruments were Bass Trombone and Concert String Bass. Upon retirement Paul and Dawn returned to their hometown, bought a grand old house on Chapel Street and continued the adventure, opening The Queen Victoria Bed and Breakfast that hosted the world for 14 years. After a second retirement they settled down to just enjoy life to the fullest, travelling in their home provinces and the USA with family and friends.
Paul is survived by his family; his wife Dawn, only son Robert (Sharon), beloved Grand Daughters Sarah (Dylan) and Abi (Steven) Lockwood. Nieces Michelle (Calvin) Moran, Melissa (Scott)Farrell, Lori, Laura, Sandra Lockwood and four grand nephews.
Paul is predeceased by his Father and Mother, brothers John, James, David and sister Jeannine Folsom.
For the excellent care Paul received in the past year at Carleton Manor the family will be forever grateful.
