Obituary for
Patrick Gougeon
Peacefully, Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 in Hospice at Timmins & District Hospital with loving family by his side. Loving father of Nicole (husband Frank), and son Paul. Cherished Grandfather to Nakeam and Hayley. Significant other of Edna Gougeon and fondly missed by extended family members Kelly Murphy, Jason and Vicky Murphy along with their children Noah and Liam. Fondly remembered by Barbara Petkovich, the mother of his children, and all of her extended family members in Orillia and surrounding area. Dear son of Ovila and Louisa Gougeon, both predeceased. Dear brotherof Angele (husband Larry Perreault) both predeceased, Darquise (husband Gerald Deschamp) both predeceased, Patricia (husband Wilfred “Fred” Leclair, predeceased), Marie-Paule (husband Jean Guenette), Jacques (wife Mary Margaret), Marcel (wife Angele), and Pierre (wifeMarlyne, predeceased). Sadly missed by the many nieces, nephews, and friends made along the way. His passion for hockey lead him on many adventures including goaltending for the Abitibi Eskimos, Orillia Bulldozers, as well as playing European Hockey in Scotland with the Paisley Pirates. He made many lasting relationships while working in Onaping for Falconbridge Nickel Mines. He would return home to Timmins and retire from Kidd Creek Mines enjoying his grandchildren, extended family and “catching the big one”. The family wishes to thank Father Alexis O’Lenga of St. Dominique’s parish, Dr. Ravi, his longstanding Cardiologist in Sudbury, Dr. Bob Kiaii formerly of London Health Sciences, Dr. Parmar and the many talented physicians and medical staff who treated him over the years at the Timmins & District Hospital. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Paul Armstrong, a truly dedicated family physician and friend. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitations as requested. A private family service will be held at a later date. Remembrance donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Blood Services would be greatly appreciated. The Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
