Norman Philip
Brown – 69, Truro,
passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday,
March 16, 2021, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in
Dark Cove, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Gorman and Bessie
(Lane) Brown.
Norman worked at Kohler for many years before driving taxi
for Layton’s Taxi. Most recently, he owned and operated
Truro Taxi until he retired. Norman was an outgoing person who loved
socializing in the community with friends and clients. He would gladly
help anyone in need in whatever way he could. He enjoyed chatting and
catching up with his siblings and spending time with his grandchildren
and family. Memories of family road trips, fishing, hockey games and
tinkering with cars will remain with us and bring a smile to our face
when we think of him; he will be missed.
Norman is survived by his children, Keith Brown, Bible Hill;
Tracy Brown (Paul Chatfield), Truro; Reta (Greg) Cream, Valley;
grandchildren, Dillan Brown, Christian Brown, Brayden Cream, Keenan
Cream; siblings, Shirley (Graham) Sweetapple, Truro; Rowena (Woodrow)
White, Delaware, Ontario; Eric (Irene) Brown, Gambo, Newfoundland;
Sandra (Melvin) Pritchett, Pierceland, Saskatchewan; brother-in-law,
Roy Pritchett, Gambo, Newfoundland; several nieces and nephews. Along
with his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Dallas
(Boland) Brown; second wife, Pamela (Rushton) Brown; sister, Phyllis
Pritchett.
Private interment will be held at a later date in Onslow
Island Cemetery, Central Onslow. If so desired, donations in
Norman’s memory to Muscular Dystrophy Canada are welcomed.
