“For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And
when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.” ― Kahlil Gibran
With the deepest sorrow, we say goodbye to Nicholas Ryan Sider who passed away
in Guelph on April 8, 2021, a month shy of his 22nd birthday. Born in Fergus at
Groves Memorial Hospital on May 10, 1999, Nick is the beloved son of Terri Sider
and Don Sider, both of Guelph. The youngest of five siblings, he will be missed by
Heidi Freiburger, Dane Freiburger, Jason Sider (Amanda), and Kelsey Sider (Max).
Predeceased by his grandparents Rose Thomson and Thom Thomson, he is survived
by his grandparents Eric Mueller (Debbie), as well as Gordon and Beverly Sider,
with whom he enjoyed a special connection.
Nick will be remembered with affection by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and
friends, as a quiet, creative young man with a huge heart. A deep thinker, and
beautifully sensitive, he questioned everything and loved writing and recording rap
music, as well as cheering for the Raptors. There was so much more to Nicolas that
had yet to be revealed and the loss of him will echo in our hearts forever.
Family and friends may visit at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David
St. South on (to be determined) from (to be determined). Visitors must RSVP and
wear a mask. A private invite-only service will be held for immediate family and a
memorial service will convene on a later date, post Covid. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation of
Canada or a charity of your choice.
