It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael James Kerins on June 26th, 2021 at the age of 92. Loving husband to Kathleen. Loving father to Kevin (Josie), Mary and Trish (Rick). Beloved Little-Papa to Daniel (Josh), Shaun (Jodi), Brenna (Ryan). Loving Great-Little-Papa to Addison and another sweet baby on the way. Dear brother of Maura (Kevin), Kathleen (Michael), Alice (Peter), Breedge (John), Joe (Alfreda) and Patty (Pat).
Born and raised in County Sligo, Ireland. Michael will forever be remembered as a humorous and proud Irish man. He lit up the room the second he walked in and could always put a smile on your face. He was full of laughter (known for his many jokes) and love for his family and friends. Michael was well known for his work at Maple Leaf Gardens and the ACC (now Scotiabank Centre) where he was well loved and admired. Michael was a dedicated and passionate fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. He never missed a game. One of Michael’s favourite hobbies was gardening. Michael spent hours and hours in the garden and showed pure pride in the work he created. In Michael’s personal life, his favourite thing to do was spending time with family and friends. Michael enjoyed playing cards every Thursday. He spent a lot of his time with his 3 grandchildren whom he adored more than anything in the world.
We would like to thank all the staff at Kipling Acres who cared for Michael over the past year who showed him compassion and kindness. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Kipling Acres. May you rest in sweet peace Michael James (our sweet Little Papa)
